Week 1 of the 21 Day Sugar Detox completed succesfully. I’ve had just a few cravings for sweet stuff. What I miss most is fruit (especially when DH is eating a blood orange next to me!), but for the rest the week was rather uneventful. Here’s a summary of what I’ve been eating this week:
Tuesday: 3 slices of Civilized Caveman’s Banana Bread with butter for breakfast. Lunch was leftover roasted chicken with parsnips. I made this awesome Cottage Pie for dinner, with braised chicory.
Wednesday: 2 slices of banana bread with butter to start the day (I like it 🙂 ). A salad with smoked eels for lunch. And oven roasted celeriac and green beans with salmon for dinner. Another slice of banana bread after our 2 hours of CrossFit in the evening.
Thursday: 2 slices of banana bread with butter. An omelet with some leftover parnsips and a side salad for lunch. Oven-roasted eggplant with sausage in tomato sauce for dinner. A tablespoon of almond butter as a snack.
Friday: 2 slices of banana bread with butter. Salmon cakes with horseradish and a side salad. Hamburger patties with stewed peppers and onions.
Saturday: 2 pork sausages and 1 slice of banana bread for breakfast. We were on a day trip, so I filled my lunchbox with oven roasted eggplant, 3 hardboiled eggs and 1 mackerel filet. I had another slice of banana bread with butter as a snack. Sirloin steak, celeriac fries and a side salad for dinner.
Sunday: I baked a batch of Easy Peasy Pancakes and ate 5 with butter for breakfast. Lunch was a big salad with smoked mackerel and 2 hardboiled eggs. The oven did all the work for dinner: ovenroasted whole chicken, parsnips, mushrooms, sweet red peppers and asparagus.
Want numbers? I have numbers! Average intake this week:
